Record-breaking SECUREX 2008

A record-high number of visitors, more than 180 new technological solutions, and a comprehensive offer encompassing property and data protection solutions, alarm systems, visual surveillance and security technologies - these are the key advantages of the 17 th edition of the International Security Exhibition SECUREX.

SECUREX - the most important exhibition in the sector

SECUREX is the biggest Polish exhibition addressed to the security sector, covering an area of more than 9,000 m 2, and gathering 216 exhibitors (a 19 percent increase compared with the 2006 edition) from 18 countries, including Austria, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Great Britain and South Korea (38 percent more than two years ago). Most importantly, Poznań was visited by almost all leading Polish companies operating in this market (many of them being active globally), as well as numerous small and medium enterprises. This year's edition proved record-breaking, both in terms of exhibition space leased, and the number of participating companies. Favourable market trends and a dynamic development of the sector translated into an impressive visitor turnout. SECUREX, together with INSTALACJE Trade Fair for Installations and Equipment and SAWO International Fair of Work Protection, Fire-Fighting and Rescuing Equipment, which were held simultaneously, attracted nearly 28 thousand visitors.

SECUREX serves as a forum enabling the presentation of cutting-edge solutions in the fields of security, CCTV systems, intrusion prevention, alarm systems encompassing signalling devices, sensors, monitoring stations and access control systems. Great interest was generated this year by an amazing number of debuting technological innovations, totalling over 180.

A healthy dose of knowledge and emotions

The programme of accompanying events included interesting lectures, conferences, meetings with specialists:

• On Tuesday awards were presented in the prestigious Polish Master of Alarm Technology competition organised by the POLALARM Polish Association of Security System and Security Management Engineers and Technicians.
• Championships of Polish Installers of Alarm Systems, organised in cooperation with the Polish Chamber of Alarm Systems under the auspices of the Minister of Interior and Administration. Three winning teams received congratulations and diplomas from Zbigniew Adamowicz, Head of the Public Security Department in the ministry.
• The 17 th "SECUREX - Property Protection Devices and Systems" conference. Organised for representatives of universities, institutes, banks, police, security companies, trade and service related companies, the conference cast more light on methods of crime prevention recommended by EN standards, security of bank accounts, security monitoring issues in financial institutions, as well as the evolution of fire alarm systems.
• Prepared by DIPOL company, the lecture devoted to monitoring of cities and sports facilities proved a spectacular success
• Many professional visitors attended the conference entitled "Visual Surveillance - New Technologies", organised under the patronage of S.P.S. Trading Sp. z o.o. in cooperation with the Poznań University of Technology. The meeting attracted a lot of attention, and all the subjects discussed were the source of expert knowledge on IP CCTV systems.

Awards and competitions

This year's edition of SECUREX saw 18 Gold Medals awarded to the best products for their unparalleled innovativeness, quality and functionality. Moreover, awards were presented for stands that proved the most successful in implementing corporate marketing strategies. Acanthus Aureus trophies went to 5 exhibitors.
